When the Door Buddy Door Prop is secured in the latched position, there will be no movement when the dog pushes or pulls on the door which makes it a lot stronger cat door latch allowing it to hold up to much bigger dogs. However, please note that if your dog is a lot smaller than your cat, it may not work.

Door Buddy works best when your dog is slightly larger than your cat. We do have lots of customers who say it works great even though their cat is the same size as their dog. Cats can become pretty liquid and squeeze through tighter spots. We suggest judging it by head size or shoulder width.

If your dog is a lot smaller than your cat, Door Buddy may not work.

Door Buddy Door Prop works great on standard indoor left or right swinging doors.

Unfortunately, it is not suitable for pocket doors, sliding doors, double doors, or bi-fold doors.

The Door Buddy Door Prop will work perfectly for crawling babies or early stage toddlers. However, it is important to note that when they are tall enough to reach the door handle or door knob and are able to open the door using the door handle or knob, it will not be as effective any more.  However, you can pair it with a baby proof door knob cover or a child proof door lever lock in order to make it work for longer.

Just remember that Door Buddy is intended to be a deterrent only and is meant to make your and your cat's life easier. Like any baby-proofing product, it is NOT a substitute for proper adult supervision.

The Door Buddy Door Prop offers adjustable width to suit your needs. Follow these steps for proper adjustment:

Step 1: The Door Prop is adjustable within a range of approximately 3 inches to 5.5 inches, which is designed to accommodate most cats while blocking access for dogs and babies.

Step 2: To adjust the width, use the T8 Torx wrench included in your order to loosen the small screws that hold the two parts of the Door Prop together.

Step 3: Slide the two parts closer together or further apart until you reach the ideal width that matches your requirements.

Step 4: Once you've set the desired width, securely tighten the screws until it locks the Door Prop in place. Ensure they are fully tightened; this action secures the adjustment.

Note: If your Door Prop was initially assembled with Phillips screws, utilize a #1 Phillips head screwdriver for the adjustment process.

By following these steps, you can easily customize the width of your Door Buddy Door Prop to effectively manage access while ensuring the safety of your pets and children.

You will not find an easier product than this to use.  To enter the room, simply turn the knob or handle like you do a normal door and the Door Buddy Door Latch Holder will release from the internal door latch allowing you to open the door freely from either side of the door without any hassles.

To relatch, simply push or pull the door towards the closed position until it relatches in the propped position.

To fully close the door, push the the Door Buddy Prop gently to the outside and then close the door. It is that simple.
